    --Solo show in Thomas Hunter Project Space, Hunter College, New York
    --Work inspired by Type A Aortic Dissection and Type B Aortic Dissection resulting in heart attack, stroke, paralysis on April 4, 2012 Wed in Kingston, Jamaica. I was medevaced to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida for emergency open heart surgery on April 6, 2012, Friday...Good Friday, a full moon and my 58th birthday.
    --The past two years have been a journey of recovery and discovery.
    --Reception Sept 27, Sat, 6-8 pm...please go to Main Entrance on 68 St and Lexington Ave to obtain a "guest pass", exit building, walk on Lexington towards 69 St, entrance in the middle of the block, burgundy doors, ask security guard for Ceramics Dept in the basement...take elevator.

  • Fulbright Teach/ Research Award 2012 at Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts, Kingston, Jamaica

    Jean Chiang was invited by Petrona Morrison, Director of the School of Visual Arts to work with the students at EMC. In October, 2011, for the EMC Rex Nettleford Arts Conference, Chiang worked on a collaborative site specific installation with four ceramics students, Peta-Gaye Bellas, Kerrolyn Douglas, Amoy Durrant and Marie Gooden. Please view the images in the portfolio folder.

    Chiang will, also, be researching the history of the emigration of Chinese women to Jamaica including oral histories.
